This well balanced itinerary works extremely well with two nights in Istanbul, Sofia and Vienna. In the middle of the tour you are treated to three nights in the walled city of Dubrovnik - the Jewel of the Adriatic! The other one-night stays are comfortably reached in a day’s drive.

Day 1 - ARRIVE ISTANBUL
Welcome to Istanbul. On arrival at Istanbul Airport, you are met and transferred to your hotel. Tonight, enjoy a Welcome Reception with drink and a light meal.

Day 2 - ISTANBUL SIGHTSEEING
Tour the highlights of Istanbul, including St Sophia and visits to the Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace and Grand Bazaar.

Day 3 - ISTANBUL – SOFIA
Head west through ancient Edirne before crossing the Bulgarian border and on to the capital, Sofia.

Day 4 - SOFIA SIGHTSEEING
Enjoy a guided sightseeing tour seeing all the major sights.

Day 5 - SOFIA – OHRID
Tour the Plitvice Lakes, a scenic wonderland of 16 lakes flanked by thundering waterfalls and primeval forest. Visit Korana Canyon’s 230 foot high falls and Tomicevo Pogledalo for views over the park. Head down the coast to visit Trogir. Founded by the Greeks in 400BC but now renowned for its fine cathedral and Renaissance Cipiko Palace. Continue to the historic port of Split.

Day 6 - OHRID – TIRANA
Crossing the border into Albania. Continue to the capital city of Tirana for a guided sightseeing tour.

Stop in Shkodra and Kotor en route to Dubrovnik where you can dine at a selection of restaurants.

Explore the stone-paved streets inside the 16th century bastions with your guide. The remainder of your stay is at leisure.

Travel along the coast to Split for a guided tour including a visit to the basement of Diocletian’s palace.
