ITINERARY
Day 1 – London – Amsterdam
We meet our Tour Director at the Holiday Inn Kings Cross/Bloomsbury, then we're off to Dover for our cruise to France. Belgium's Flanders Fields lead to Holland and the canals and bridges which make Amsterdam the 'Venice of the North'. Our orientation tour of this exciting city shows us Dam Square and the Mint Tower. Then we visit a diamond-polishing factory to see diamonds being cut and polished before continuing to our hotel. Hotel: Tulip Inn Lakeside. (D)
Day 2 – Amsterdam – Rhineland
This morning we enter Germany to visit Cologne and view its 13th century Gothic cathedral. Then we continue along the Rhine, via Bonn, to board our memorable Rhine cruise at the charming town of Boppard. Relax as we glide past leafy vineyards, medieval castles and half timbered houses. Now we rejoin our coach and see the legendary Loreley Rock and admire Pfalz Castle sitting in the middle of the river on the way to our hotel. Hotel: NH Weinheim. (B,D)
Day 3 – Rhineland – Innsbruck
This morning, we drive south to the Bavarian Alps for views of 'Mad' King Ludwig's fairytale castle of Neuschwanstein. We then take the beautiful Fern Pass route into Austria to reach the Tyrolean capital of Innsbruck. Our sightseeing here includes the Rococo Wilten Basilica, the impressive Golden Roof and the Imperial Palace. This evening perhaps enjoy a lively Austrian folklore show? Hotel: Alpinpark. (B,D)
Day 4 – Innsbruck – Lucerne
Today we travel through spectacular Alpine scenery as we leave the Austrian Alps for a stop in the capital of the small principality of Liechtenstein, dominated by Vaduz Castle. Then along the Walensee Lake to Lucerne where we see the covered Chapel Bridge and the stirring Lion Monument, dedicated to the Swiss guards that died defending the French King. later, there's time at leisure to explore the town or shop for that special Swiss timepiece or local chocolate, before reaching our hotel. Hotel: Luzernerhof. (B,D)
Day 5 – Lucerne – Paris
This morning we cross the Rhine at the industrial city of Basel, then enter France. We cross the rich farmlands of Alsace and continue alongside the Jura Mountains and through the wine growing Burgundy region. Our destination is the glorious city of Paris, vibrant heart of French life. This evening, why not join an excursion to see the city's illuminations the perfect introduction to one of Europe's loveliest cities?

Day 6 – Paris – Sightseeing
With a local guide this morning we see Garnier's Opera House, Napoleon's Arc de Triomphe, the Champs Elysees, and the fabulous Eiffel Tower. Now we see the splendid Notre Dame Cathedral, located in the oldest part of the city – the 'Ile de la Cité'. Later we have time at leisure to discover the riches of this great capital. Perhaps explore the huge collection of art treasures at the Louvre Museum or browse among the elegant boutiques for Paris fashions. Tonight, don't miss the nightlife – perhaps enjoy a lively cabaret or a typical Parisian bistro? (B)
Day 7 – Paris – London
This morning we travel through the land in which the great battles of the First World War took place, before reaching Calais. We sail across the channel to Dover, and continue through the picturesque Kent countryside to London where our memorable tour comes to an end. (B)
